Reports say that no one took it harder than former model, singer, actress and former First Lady Carla Bruni when her husband, President Nicolas Sarkozy was kicked out of office. Anticipating her husband’s defeat in the past several weeks, close friends have worried about her, citing she acts depressed and frustrated at her husband’s declining popularity. Even the French media have unkindly noted that Bruni’s appearance has gone from fab to drab. Once a knockout, insiders claim that she have overdosed on Botox and has had trouble losing her pregnancy weight despite giving birth to her daughter over seven months ago.
However, the press is now reporting that the outgoing first lady is already set on reestablishing her singing and show business career. Due to release an album this fall, there are also rumors that she is planning star in a bio regarding her family which will be produced by her sister, French director, Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi. Her previous albums, received little notice and no critical acclaim though she did star in a Woody Allen film, Midnight in Paris, while serving as First Lady.
Making money is not necessary for the French couple, as both are very wealthy in their own right, but the fall from power has not been easy to swallow. Despite Sarkozy claiming that he is not bitter, those in the know report that this has been a terrible blow for both of them. No word yet if Bruni will be singing the blues on her soon to be released album.
